Spring Fashion

Spring Fashion2Spring! Can somebody say it’s about time?! The thought of pulling all my old spring and summer clothes out of storage tubs makes me so excited. There’s actually a spring in my step as I pull them up from the basement. Somehow they seem lighter than when I took them down at the end of the season.

So let’s talk spring fashion. With spring comes bright colors to match the beautiful sunshine in the sky and flowers blooming around us. With the bright cheery colors we also see a plethora of tank tops, short skirts, and sheer material. For Christian young ladies, modesty along with fashion is very important. The goal is to find ways of mixing style and fashion without compromising modest apparel.

So are you up for the challenge? Here we go! Remember, although some rules of fashion have changed over the years, biblical modesty will never change.

This season is all stripes and florals.

Don’t shy away from mixing floral prints. Pattern mixing is still popular. For example, wear a striped shirt with a floral skirt.

Mixing colors–even if they’re not in the same family–is okay. Mixing more than two to three colors in your spring ensemble gives a bright look. Popular colors this season are mint green, coral, and navy.

Scarves are not just for winter! Add a scarf to your spring ensemble and spruce up any outfit. You can wear them in many different ways.

Don’t underestimate the power of a colorful purse. A bright handbag is like an exclamation point at the end of your outfit.

Maxi skirts are still popular for spring in all colors and patterns. Be on guard to keep them loose. They can be guilty of being clingy. Whether we are in our Sunday best or out and about with our girlfriends, we can always be pleasing to the Lord while being fun and fashionable.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, Be not conformed to this world” (Romans 12:1-2).
