“Three Altars”

Another day of North American Youth Congress has come and gone, and God is working in so many ways on so many lives. With the expectation going into each event, it would be almost impossible to sit by and not be changed just by being at NAYC13. You see, Youth Congress is more than a social event; it is a revolutionizing agent used by God to change the lives of this generation and those around them.

Tonight, in the North American Talent Search students showcased their abilities through the worship arts. Such activities included worshipful piano pieces, spoken word, and painting, just to name a few. The students offering their gifts back to the service of God is the norm here at Youth Congress, and it doesn’t only happen in the talent search. For instance, there were two confirmed … Read More »

Thursday Day Sessions

Let me see the hands of everyone who woke up this morning completely awake and refreshed. Anyone? Anyone at all? How about the hands of those who had to drag their fellow youth group members out of bed this morning? Ahhhh, that’s what I thought. Sleep is for the weak! Well, when I originally started writing this article, I thought all of you NAYCers would sleep in and straggle into the morning general session around lunchtime. However, y’all flat out proved me wrong!

This morning, the arena doors opened at 8:30am, and not too long after, the corridors were flooded with NAYCers who wanted to get a “jump start” on the Jump Start session. If you were one of the early birds, you were treated with some incredible entertainment … Read More »

Uplink: From the Illinois District

7th June

The first transatlantic telegraph cable was completely laid out in 1866, made of 340,500 miles of copper and iron wire. It was designed to stretch 2,876.95 miles along the ocean floor. Once that cable was in place, you could use electrical impulses and signal code to send any message you wanted to the other side of the world.

On May 4, 2013, thousands of young people who pray and fast laid out a communication plan of their own called UPLINK. They sent out spiritual impulses using sacrificial code to send forth our message to Heaven. UPLINK is the day students link up all across America to call out and seek God’s face through prayer and fasting. It’s our day to bind together and send out our beckon, getting the attention of both Heaven and Hell.

In Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, our group … Read More »
