1964 is a pretty significant year. And not just because IBM announced a hip, new mainframe computer system that filled a room or because the Ford Mustang was manufactured for the first time. While these are fairly important milestones in history (especially if you are a car buff or computer nerd), this year holds significance for an entirely different reason. 1964 was the year that, for the first time ever, SFC funds were allocated to the Division of Education for the purpose of granting SFC scholarships to young people of the UPCI. Now, a young person with a calling into ministry could be eligible to receive financial assistance to attend one of our UPCI endorsed Bible colleges or Christian college to prepare their life for ministry.

I recently had the privilege to meet a gentleman who, as a young man … Read More »

Many students feel a calling into ministry and a desire to prepare for ministry by attending Bible college. Many of these same students face challenges in raising finances for their tuition. Fortunately, SFC has given over $1 million to provide scholarships to qualified young people seeking to be trained for service in the kingdom of God. The General Youth Division is grateful for the opportunity to partner with these worthy recipients. Visit edu.upci.org for information about the ministry of the Division of Education.

Each year, around this time, more students and prospective students receive word that they have been awarded the coveted Sheaves for Christ scholarship to attend Bible college. Some of those students are continuing their Christian education, while others are just beginning.

This year, twenty freshmen and upperclassmen heard the news that their tuition cost was just cut by … Read More »

TBC Chorale Tour 2010

21st May

On occasion, my mother will tell stories about the time when I was 7 months old and was a part of the Texas Bible College Chorale Tour of 1985.  My parents worked at TBC and we went on the trip as chaperones.  Apparently there was a lot of driving, it was hot in Florida, and I was a perfect child so I didn’t cause any extra trouble.  A-hem.

Anyway, I suppose it got in my blood because I really enjoy going to an amazing chorale service!

Which is definitely what we had in Austin, Texas.

It was simply incredible.  The band did amazing.  The soloists were top notch.

They brought the house down with a medley that ended in a song that took me back to my Youth Camp days – “Just Like the Day of Pentecost.”

And most importantly, the anointing was present and God moved.

Pretty much the … Read More »
