P7 for a Better 2017

20th January

As a new year begins, resolutions are started by both young and old. Each New Year presents an opportunity to “start over” in some ways. For whatever reason, January 1st sparks the feeling of desire to commit to something or stop doing something. Perhaps that consists of re-committing to an opportunity you had last January. Weight loss, finances, relationships, and overall health are some of the most popular resolutions.

As Apostolics, we have the opportunity to also commit (or re-commit) to being a better follower of Christ. Instead of trying to “fix everything” by a basic resolution, it’s more practical to evaluate needed areas of improvement in your life and commit to basic principles. Paul discussed with the Galatians the importance of understanding that we “reap what we sow.” Anyone can pretty much understand this concept. If we make bad decisions, … Read More »

27th December

Imagine along with me. Somewhere in the heavenlies, long before this world existed as we know it, we find God holding a small pulsating light of life. Michael and Gabriel gather near to catch a glimpse of this curious, never before seen form.

“What is it, Master?” asks Michael.

“It is something special,” replies the Creator. “There will be many, and each will contain a portion of My being,” He explains.

“They are not the same as us?” asks Gabriel.

“No, they are not. They will exist a little lower than you. They will be confined to only one universe, dwell in the realm of time, and they will exist in different stages of time. Each will have a specific purpose for when and where I place them. However, they will be free to make their own choices with the … Read More »

27th December

Ladies and gentlemen, if you are reading this, I would like to congratulate you. You have officially survived yet another year. 2014 flew past us faster than any of us planned. For some, it might have been the greatest 365 days of your life. For others, it might have been a year filled with pain and heartache. Regardless of the hand the year dealt you, there is one thing we all have in common with 2014. What we can all say of 2014 is that it is over. We will never ever get it back. All 8765.81 hours; 525,949 minutes have slipped into oblivion.

Whatever you did last year is over. You cannot change it, whether it was good or bad. As much as you would like to, you cannot go back to June 11 or February 16 … Read More »

My Greatest New Year’s Resolutions

3rd January

Court was called to order. Micah, the stenographer recorded it all in the book that bears his name. God was bringing His case against the nation of Israel who fidgeted nervously behind the defendant’s table.

As the gavel fell, God stood from the bench and began listing a seemingly endless list of crimes Israel had committed. His voice trailed off and His throat tightened as He made His way down the list of charges.

You could see Him shudder with every charge because these weren’t strangers; these were His kids. God’s justice demanded they pay for their sins, but God’s mercy reached for them to repent and run back into His open arms, but they would have none of it. They just sat there at the defendant’s table with their arms crossed.

With tear-filled eyes, God presented evidence that He had done no … Read More »
