“What is Sheaves for Christ?” I inquired. My pastor, Steven Dickson in Mandeville, Louisiana asked me to join the youth group to go out on the street to collect money for Sheaves for Christ. I have to be honest—I did not want to go that day. It was the middle of a hot, humid Louisiana summer! We went several weekends every month to the street and collected money in our Sheaves for Christ cans.
Just three months earlier on April 3, 1988 was the first time I ever attended a United Pentecostal Church. In that service, God delivered me from drug addiction and a life of darkness. For the first time ever, a local church surpassed the $100k barrier! Living Way Church in Conroe, Texas (Pastor Randy Ensey) gave an all-time SFC record offering of $105,891.01!
