North American Youth Congress, Friday Night

FridayNightThe final night of North American Youth Congress 2017 closed out in a mighty way. The event might be over, but the impacts of this monumental week are just beginning. After two nights of extraordinary talent, we are pleased to announce Kingdom Worship as the first place winners of the North American Talent Search.

In addition to the winners of the talent search, the stadium erupted with a cheer as Impact Junkie, a new venture that is changing the world, shared the winners of the “The Great Pitch.” Pushing Back the Darkness, a venture beginning to end human trafficking, won third place. A new business called Cake Jar came in second place. The business venture that came in first place is called C. Saucy, an innovative program that designs modest scrubs for women. At the end of all the announcements, the GYD excitedly announced that St. Louis, Missouri will be the host city for the 2019 North American Youth Congress.

Closing remarks were given by our incredible youth president Michael Ensey, and as a surprise to the congregation, a personal letter from the Vice President of United States, Mike Pence with acknowledgement from President Trump, was read endorsing and backing the powerful, Pentecostal movement.

Pastor Jason Staten opened his sermon entitled “I’m the Map” from II Corinthians 3:1-3. We are no longer a minority, the Pentecostals of today are hardly able to be contained in football stadiums. No matter how far we come as a church, we will never stop needing a map to guide our way.

There are lines that must never be erased from the essential map we have been given. We are not made to be ordinary, we are called to stand out! I Timothy 4:16 reminds us of the first integral part of staying on the right track. Doctrine must be unwavering, no matter how far the church progresses. It is part of the identity of the Apostolic church.

The second line that must be declared is the line of demonstration as in I Corinthians 2:4-5. Therein is the power of the Apostolic church. There are things that happen in the dimension of demonstration that cannot be explained. If you serve a God you can explain, you probably don’t need Him. God can take what seems impossible and turn it around in a mighty way. The very atmosphere can change when it encounters the power of Almighty God.

The third line that must be embedded into the age old map is ministry in action, which is the impact of the church. There is a world that is waiting on you and me. It is time to loose God to do big things by asking Him to do big things. He is willing and ready. Step out in faith and take action! The mantle was passed years ago, now it’s time to capture the vision.

North American Youth Congress 2017 was inexplicably monumental and what happened in the Lucas Oil stadium will only get better. “This is That,” and that is powerful beyond words.
