Ashley Wicker from Asheboro, NC was the winning Female Vocalist for the talent competition held during Youth Congress 2009 in Nashville, TN. Israel & New Breed add their own spin to Christmas!

This album has 16 tracks with guest artists bringing some of their unique styles to make this album over the top. The artists include CeCe & Marvin Winans and solos from several of the vocalists in New Breed.

Not only are there a few original tracks and Christmas classics, but there are several instrument tracks which will definitely have you moving!

Artist: Steven Curtis Chapman

Album: “Beauty Will Rise”

“Heaven is the face of a little girl…” These are the opening lyrics on the cd entitled, “Beauty Will Rise” from Grammy award winning artist, Steven Curtis Chapman. After the tragic death of Steven and wife Mary Beth’s five-year-old daughter, Maria Sue Chapman, Steven began writing and recording songs for this album. The lyrics written by the artist himself are from a bleeding heart with a hunger to know and understand God, while trusting Him when nothing makes sense. Even in his grief he gave his talent to God and wrote twelve amazing songs included in this cd. The following lyrics are from the track, “Faithful” and capture the essence of this album. “I will proclaim it to the world. I will declare it to my heart, and sing it when the sun is shining, I will scream it in the dark… You are faithful.” This album can be purchased on itunes or at any local Christian store.

Album: “Glory Forever”

Over the last twenty years, Gateway College has produced several projects which feature the Choir, Chorale, and Ensemble—United. Several of their recordings, including “Glory Forever” were recorded with a live audience. Most people say that this is by far their best album… I agree! There is an excitement that emanates from the singers and musicians. Many of the songs were written by students of Gateway College, which adds to its originality. There are soft ballads, fast songs with complex harmony, and even rap included in this album. You must buy it, even if it is just to hear that! “Glory Forever” can be purchased at www.pentecostalpublishing.org.

Album: Until the Whole World Hears

Casting Crowns has put out yet another great album, released November 17^th, 2009. “Until the Whole World Hears” has the same high standard as their previous albums. Casting Crowns stated that they wanted the focus of this studio album to be about “Living life with a kingdom focus, a reaching-out, loving-the-world-like-Jesus-does purpose.” After listening to their powerful lyrics, it is clear that they succeeded. One of my favorite tracks is their twist on the song “Glorious Day” (Living He Loved Me). It’s a slower version of the original and a great song! “Until the Whole World Hears” can be purchased on iTunes.
