Summer Fashion

18th July

If I’ve heard the saying once, then I have heard it a thousand times—modest is hottest! To me, those words have always been a little confidence booster as I wake up daily and put on clothes that don’t conform to the pattern of this world. However, when it comes to those scorching, heated, miserable summer months, dressing modest really is HOT! And by “hot”, I mean ninety degree camp rec-time temperatures.

If we are being straight-up honest with each other, I have to admit I sometimes look at my friends and the girls of this world, and I almost envy how more comfortable they look in their immodest clothing. All the while I’m over here sweating like Niagara Falls in my covered up temple.

The frustration of looking holy, feeling confident, and being at a relaxed temperature is most definitely a struggle … Read More »

Spring Fashion

8th March

Spring is right around the corner, which means out with the drab and in with the fab. There is nothing better than stepping out of your house one morning and physically smelling the change in the air. No longer is the outside bitter and cold from the winter months. Now there is a light sweetness that engulfs you as you walk to your car.

I love seeing all the bright spring colors finally waking up from hibernation. Even the malls seem to teem with life yet again. As a Pentecostal gal, I can honestly say spring is the best season to buy clothes. Why?

Two words—SKIRTS EVERYWHERE.

As soon as the temperature begins to rise, there is a rush to the sewing machines as designers think of new and creative ways for women to rock that ladylike skirt fashion. During these precious months, … Read More »

31st October

It’s that time of year again. We’ve already started making the transition from summer apparel to winter! The two wardrobes couldn’t be more drastically different if they tried. So there is fall—the go-between and middle man—there to help make the transition a little smoother. The cool weather starts to tip toe in as we ever so slightly start changing out the open-toed shoes for a lighter boot and the cool tops for a thicker fabric.

We do not doubt you will do just fine picking out sweaters, bottoms, and accessories. So I am here to introduce to you some top color trends you can be on the lookout for. It is easy to gravitate towards safe hues you’ve grown familiar with, such as earth tones and black for the fall months. But these shades of color will add some variety to … Read More »

Spring Fashion

19th April

Spring! Can somebody say it’s about time?! The thought of pulling all my old spring and summer clothes out of storage tubs makes me so excited. There’s actually a spring in my step as I pull them up from the basement. Somehow they seem lighter than when I took them down at the end of the season.

So let’s talk spring fashion. With spring comes bright colors to match the beautiful sunshine in the sky and flowers blooming around us. With the bright cheery colors we also see a plethora of tank tops, short skirts, and sheer material. For Christian young ladies, modesty along with fashion is very important. The goal is to find ways of mixing style and fashion without compromising modest apparel.

So are you up for the challenge? Here we go! Remember, although some rules of fashion have … Read More »

Fall Fashion

18th October

Fall is one of my absolute favorite seasons! I have to admit a lot of it has to do with the fun fashion you can wear in the comfortable temperatures. It’s not too hot to wear cooler weather accessories like scarves and hats, and it’s not too cold to cover up your fall ensemble with a bulky jacket.

Men and women alike, I’ve whipped up some fall fashion ideas that can help you get started with sprucing up your closet for the next month or so of pleasurable weather! Just a little hint—you don’t have to go on a large shopping spree every season when new fashion hits the stores. Instead, you can buy two or three key pieces that are interchangeable and work as basics with pieces you already own. Now check out three simple key components that might be … Read More »
